MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--The largest ERP Upgrades and Test Automation SaaS provider, Panaya, announced today the release of its Business Function Activation (BFA) Software-as-a-Service solution for automating the impact analysis and testing activities involved in activating SAP business functions, significantly reducing the risks and costs associated with BFA.
“Panaya Business Function Activation identified all required code corrections and the transactions that needed to be tested. This reduced our project scope and risk to a minimum. We went live with our business function project with no problems!”
SAP introduces ongoing innovation to its ERP 6.0 Business Suite and Industry Solutions via business functions that bundle functional enhancements, UI simplifications, and enterprise service bundles. However, using SAP’s switch framework for activating Enhancement Package business functions can create complex projects due to the amount of business process integration involved.
With the activation of SAP business functions, millions of lines of new SAP code are activated, introducing the potential for unexpected changes to the customer’s existing business processes and even failures in the custom code. This creates a need for impact analysis and testing solutions for business function activation that are capable of biting a big chunk out of the risks and costs involved in implementation.
South African Fashion retailer Foschini saw that need. They recently implemented Panaya Business Function Activation. Gerhard Mitton, Foschini’s SAP Manager, said, “Panaya Business Function Activation identified all required code corrections and the transactions that needed to be tested. This reduced our project scope and risk to a minimum. We went live with our business function project with no problems!”
Having crossed the 600-SAP customer mark, Panaya will showcase its industry-first solution at the SAP TechEd show in Las Vegas, demonstrating its technology for automating the implementation of SAP business function across SAP ERP 6.0, and SAP Industry Solutions.
Panaya’s Business Function Activation software-as-a-service simulates the activation of business functions without requiring any software or hardware installation. The solution provides a detailed breakdown of the necessary implementation activities and required custom code corrections, and automatically performs the needed modifications. The solution further generates a prioritized testing plan based on the severity level of each issue discovered and provides a highly intuitive project management platform for managing the business function project through to completion.
