AUGUSTA, Maine--()--Goold Health Services (GHS), a nationally recognized health care management company focusing on State Medicaid services, recently “upgraded” its software and hardware capabilities by promoting Miklos Van Halen and Christopher Siegel to Senior Director of Product Engineering and Director of Technology respectively.
“We’ve made a positive impact already, providing custom solutions and writing proprietary software for clients unlike competitors who tend to use third party products.”
The two will work closely together to oversee all aspects of GHS’s proprietary software, underlying platforms, and virtual systems including design, development, and security. They will also play key roles in thought leadership, strategic planning, and business development.
“Our goal is to continue leveraging technology to provide efficient, effective, and affordable technology solutions in the Medicaid space,” said Siegel. “We’ve made a positive impact already, providing custom solutions and writing proprietary software for clients unlike competitors who tend to use third party products.”
By writing its own software and doing everything in house, GHS bridges the gap between engineers and clinicians. “We work in the same building as our doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, and we collaborate with them daily,” said Van Halen. “Most software people do work purely on specs and never even talk with a clinician. It’s a huge advantage for us.”
Van Halen joined GHS four plus years ago; Siegel started at GHS over five years ago. During their tenure, Van Halen and Siegel have helped the organization evolve in terms of technology. Today, GHS has a more mature and streamlined software development process, more efficient operations, more virtualized systems, and a more robust data system. The development team for its Point-of-Sale (POS) System, GHS’s flagship product, has also grown.
Founded in 1974 and affiliated with the Waldron Group of Companies, GHS has built a national presence, providing pharmacy and other services to 14 State Medicaid Agencies. GHS is headquartered in Augusta, Maine, with offices in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Des Moines, Iowa, and Atlanta, Georgia. For more information, please visit www.ghsinc.com.
