HARRISBURG, Pa.--()--Emerald Asset Management, Inc., an investment holding company with approximately $2.1 billion in assets, marked its 20th year managing client assets with an anniversary celebration today at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Rotunda. Emerald’s subsidiary, Emerald Advisers, Inc., began managing client funds on October 1, 1992. Emerald’s founder and CEO Joseph Besecker welcomed the assembled crowd of over 100 employees and invited guests by saying “In 1992 we started with an idea – to find local companies with superior growth prospects – and with a determination to work harder than anyone else,” he said. “We stand here today with a twenty year record of success and over $2 billion under management – and I can tell you that everyone at Team Emerald says the same thing – we are just getting started.”
“We are proud of our record and the results we have delivered to our clients”
Mr. Besecker was joined at the ceremony by chief investment officer Kenneth G. Mertz II, CFA and director of research Joseph W. Garner. Mr. Mertz joined the firm in October, 1992 and discussed Emerald’s two decades of performance results for its clients, including some of the nation’s largest public pension funds, and individual investors who can purchase Emerald’s two mutual funds, the Emerald Growth Fund and the Emerald Banking & Finance Fund. Mr. Garner told the assembled audience how Emerald is “Driven by Research” – its in-depth, fundamental research of publicly-traded companies centered on its 10-Step research process. “We are proud of our record and the results we have delivered to our clients,” Mr. Mertz said. Mr. Garner added, “We have kept our eye on the ball and maintained our same investment strategy and focus over the past two decades.”
Pennsylvania State Senators Mike Brubaker (Lancaster County) and Judy Schwank (Berks County) also addressed the audience and thanked Emerald for its contributions to the local Pennsylvania economy. Senator Brubaker also noted Emerald’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the community and thanked the company’s staff.
Mr. Besecker also presented awards of appreciation to long-time Emerald clients and staff, and presented the Emerald Founder’s Award to Mr. Mertz and to Emerald director and shareholder Paul W, Ware, thanking both for their leadership and dedication to Emerald.
