CHICAGO--()--For the Atlanta metro region, third quarter 2012 construction project data showed a decrease of (-5.2%) in construction projects out for bid compared to the same quarter a year ago, according to the BidClerk Construction Index™ (BCI).
In a bright spot of growth in construction activity, BCI’s year-over-year analysis revealed that private construction projects increased (12.8%) year-over-year, while public construction activity dropped (-13.2%) year-over-year.
Quarter-over-quarter construction activity showed declines in all categories. BCI found that the Atlanta metro region decreased (-16.2%) in construction activity in a quarter-over-quarter analysis, with private construction activity dropping (-21.6%) and public construction declining (-12.8%).
The Atlanta area counties included in the report are Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale.
