Guardian Life Adds 237 New Financial Representatives in Third Quarter, 683 Reps Hired So Far in 2012

Company Establishes 2013 Goal: 28% of New Representatives Will Be Women

NEW YORK--()--The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), today announced that it recruited 237 new Financial Representatives in the third quarter of 2012, for a total of 683 hired so far this year. With the additional new hires, Guardian is well on its way to reach its stated goal of adding 840 new Financial Representatives this year. The Company also announced that it expects at least 28% of its new Financial Representative recruits in 2013 to be women.

“We continue to successfully place new Financial Representatives across the country to meet the increasing needs of families looking to better manage their financial futures in a still uncertain economy”

“We continue to successfully place new Financial Representatives across the country to meet the increasing needs of families looking to better manage their financial futures in a still uncertain economy,” said Scott Rich, Field Vice President, Financial Representative Recruiting for Guardian. “Guardian is delighted at our progress in attracting high caliber candidates, and with almost 700 new representatives as we enter the fourth quarter, we expect to exceed our 2012 hiring goals. Due to the growing need for our financial products and planning tools, we are seeing an increasing number of talented people seeking to take control of their career lives and do more meaningful work.”

Guardian has so far hired over 150 female Financial Representatives in 2012 and since 2009 has steadily grown its number of female Financial Representatives to 630.

“Women have such a unique and lucrative career opportunity as a Financial Representative and in fact, it’s the career every woman needs to know about,” said Emily Viner, Vice President, Agency Management and Leadership Development for Guardian Life. “Many women develop truly successful, meaningful careers as Financial Representatives, in part because it is a relationship-driven business. Also, Financial Representatives have the opportunity to build a professional practice how they see fit, which often provides a more flexible schedule with a greater balance between their career and family.”

Currently, Guardian is hosting its Women Producers’ Summit in NYC, an annual conference that provides a platform for female Financial Representatives to share their roads to success, learn new creative ways to market themselves and how to utilize public relations in their local markets in order to enhance their personal brands. The Company plans to grow this conference annually in New York City so that women have the opportunity to meet with their peers and learn from each other’s experiences.

Ms. Viner added, “we have had women successfully transition to a career as a Financial Representative from fields such as law, music, real estate and education while some have built a business right after graduating college. The possibilities are endless for dedicated, ambitious, self-motivators seeking both a financially and personally rewarding career.”
