L.J. Star Video Explains LED Lighting For Industrial Sight Glass Applications

In just over two minutes, the video “Understanding LED Sight Glass Lighting,” explores the characteristics of LED lighting in industrial sight glass applications, including a demonstration comparing the illumination of LED light to traditional halogen light.

Not only do LED luminaires give operators a well-lit glare-free view of processes through a sight glass, they also help plants achieve corporate green initiatives. LED luminaires provide more than five times the lumens per watt than incandescent luminaires. As the video points out, an incandescent luminaire converts 85% of the input power into heat, while an LED luminaire converts only 5% of its input power into heat. Unlike halogen lights that have fragile filaments, LED lights tolerate more vibration and typically have a lifetime of more than 50,000 hours.
