Homeownership Preservation Foundation Receives $150,000 Fannie Mae Grant

WASHINGTON--()--The Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF), an independent national nonprofit dedicated to helping distressed homeowners navigate financial challenges and avoid mortgage foreclosure through its Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline at 888-995-HOPE™, announced a $150,000 grant investment from Fannie Mae for the 2012 funding cycle.

“Studies have proven the critical role that professional housing counseling plays in helping homeowners stay on the path of sustainable homeownership and, ultimately, make better informed financial decisions. This grant will enable HPF to continue providing free, reliable housing counseling and loan scam prevention assistance to struggling homeowners in need.”

Through the national Homeowner's HOPE Hotline, HPF's housing counselors provide information and guidance every day, around the clock, to homeowners with foreclosure prevention concerns and questions. The Hotline is also the national call to action for victims of loan modification scams, providing a resource for homeowners who believe they have been scammed. There is no charge for the call or to receive counseling, thanks to the continued financial support of third-party organizations such as Fannie Mae.

“We are very grateful for the continued support of Fannie Mae and are proud to partner with them to help the millions of American homeowners who are still struggling,” said Colleen Hernandez, CEO of HPF. “Studies have proven the critical role that professional housing counseling plays in helping homeowners stay on the path of sustainable homeownership and, ultimately, make better informed financial decisions. This grant will enable HPF to continue providing free, reliable housing counseling and loan scam prevention assistance to struggling homeowners in need."
