In honor of the late Evelyn H. Lauder, founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the powerful blue lights of Boston’s Zakim Bridge will turn the hottest pink on October 18, 2012. The week-long illumination will kick off just one day before The Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s annual Hot Pink Luncheon & Symposium at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The BCRF Luncheon and Symposium will educate over 400 guests on up-to-date breast cancer research advances during a panel discussion featuring Boston-based BCRF-funded investigators. |

ABOUT: |
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. To date, nearly $41.8 million has been directed to stellar scientists at New England-based medical institutions, and in October 2012, more than $5.8 million will be awarded to 33 distinguished researchers from prominent institutions in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Today, New England is the geographical area with the second highest concentration of BCRF grantees. Currently, more than 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF is directed to breast cancer research and awareness programs. BCRF remains one of the most fiscally responsible charities in the country. For the tenth time since 2002, it has earned 4 stars from Charity Navigator. Additionally, BCRF is the only cancer organization rated an “A+” by CharityWatch.
