Kerr’s SonicFill Composite System Receives Pride Institute “Best of Class” Technology Award for Second Consecutive Year

ADA Annual Session 2012

ORANGE, Calif.--()--Kerr Corporation, a leading manufacturer of innovative dental restorative materials, announced today that its SonicFill bulk fill composite system has been named a recipient of the Pride Institute’s Best of Class Technology Award (“Emerging Technology” category) for a second consecutive year.

“Pride Institute award winners exemplify innovation and a true differentiation from the rest of the technologies in their categories”

“To receive this prestigious award in back-to-back years is truly an honor,” said James Lobsenz, Kerr's Senior Product Manager. “It’s gratifying to have been able to bring a new technology to market that is literally changing the way posterior composites are done. Being recognized as a best in class product by the thought leaders of our industry provides further motivation for us to continue producing game-changing technologies moving forward.”

The SonicFill composite system is a first-of-its-kind product that enables clinicians to change the way they place posterior composite. It has been quickly embraced by the dental community, having achieved the one million tip shipment milestone in the US a mere five months after entering the market and now exceeding over two million tips shipped.

“Pride Institute award winners exemplify innovation and a true differentiation from the rest of the technologies in their categories,” said Dr. Lou Shuman, President of The Pride Institute and creator of the award and its process. “We seek out those products and technologies that truly raise the bar. Kerr’s SonicFill is among those elite products receiving this prestigious award specifically for that reason.”

The Pride Leadership Panel consists of some of the leading technologists in the dental industry, including Drs. Lou Shuman, John Flucke, Parag Kachalia, Paul Feuerstein, Marty Jablow, Larry Emmott and Titus Schleyer. The individual contribution of the panel members to the industry is immeasurable in their work as researchers, speakers, and editors.

The Pride Institute Best of Class Technology awards were launched in 2009 as a new concept to provide an unbiased, non-profit assessment of available technologies in the dental space. Kerr, along with the other Pride Institute honorees, will participate in the “Tech Expo” at the American Dental Association’s Annual Session. This year’s event will be held October 18-21 in San Francisco.

SonicFill will also be on display at Kerr’s booth 935 on the ADA show floor.
