BARCELONA, Spain--()--IESE Business School and NYU Stern School of Business have joined forces to launch an executive program which will offer participants the best of both schools, fusing the expertise of two world-renowned business schools. IESE Business School is consistently ranked among the leading international business schools, and NYU Stern School of Business is widely recognized as having one of the premier finance departments in the world and is also a top ranked global business school.
“By holding modules in Europe, the United States and China, we will provide senior executives with a rich global learning experience, one that will allow them to compare and contrast different approaches to regulation and financial management systems in general”
In the newly launched program, NYU and IESE combine their strengths to offer a curriculum with a truly global perspective and educational experience. With modules in Barcelona, New York and Shanghai, the “Global Finance and Strategy for Senior Executives” program will provide senior executives with a deep financial understanding and strategic thinking to help them face today’s volatile financial markets and rapidly changing economic and business environment.
“By holding modules in Europe, the United States and China, we will provide senior executives with a rich global learning experience, one that will allow them to compare and contrast different approaches to regulation and financial management systems in general,” said Prof. Paddy Miller, IESE’s academic director for the program.
This joint-program provides numerous benefits for the program’s participants. The multi-modular format in three of the world’s most culturally-diverse cities will give C-suite and senior executives an unparalleled global learning experience, as well as the opportunity to network with peers from around the globe. IESE and NYU’s faculty, among the world’s best and most international, will also enrich the participants’ learning experience.
Also, the program’s coursework is designed to give participants practical tools they can immediately utilize in their organizations. Through the program’s Individual Business Project, participants can share specific challenges they are facing in their companies. Peers and academics will then work together to provide insights and possible solutions and new ways of looking at these challenges.
Finally, by bringing together NYU’s and IESE’s distinguished and internationally experienced faculty members, senior executives will gain insights into the latest knowledge and skills in finance and strategy while learning to understand the global context in which businesses operate today.
“C-Suite and senior executives are facing many of the same issues around the globe," said Jaki Sitterle, Associate Dean of Executive Education at NYU Stern. “In light of the recent financial crisis, ongoing challenges in the European Union and slow growth in the developed world, it’s critically important for global leaders to hone their understanding of the complexities that exist today in order to realize and act on new opportunities. The Global Finance and Strategy for Senior Executives program is designed to prepare C-Suite and senior executives for these ever increasing challenges.”
Multi-Modular, Multi-Cultural
The program’s structure has been carefully designed to match course content with the module location:
- Barcelona. April 2013. Focused on global context and on providing participants with a global mindset
- New York, June 2013. The focus will be on regulatory issues, risk, and a senior view of strategic financial issues
- Shanghai, September 2013. The last module is an immersive experience: participants will explore different industries and interact with Chinese executives to better understand doing business in China and in emerging markets.
Also, participants will have the opportunity to speak to executives through Leadership Forums and will bring their strategy cases from their own companies to discuss in groups.
