Verdasys Launches Digital Guardian 6.1 – Compliance, Insider Threat and Cyber-Threat Prevention Integrated to Define DLP 3.0

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verdasys, the leader in Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) solutions for enterprise and midmarket companies, today announced the launch of Digital Guardian 6.1, the first information protection platform to integrate compliance, insider threat prevention and cyber threat prevention. The release also includes the industry’s first enterprise DLP iOS Mobile App and support for the Windows 8 operating system.

Cyber Threat Defense

Digital Guardian 6.1 Cyber-threat detection and defense products include:

• Network Agents which incorporate dynamic threat intelligence feeds, selective network forensics, and integrated static and dynamic malware detection technology.
  • Consolidated threat feeds from Umbra, Cyveillance and Kaspersky are used to detect command and control patterns, known bad destinations and known bad content.
  • Intercepted payload risk is established via integrated static and virtual execution-based dynamic code analysis.
• Endpoint Agents enforcing Adaptive Cyber Threat Policies to monitor, prevent, detect, and contain malware activities during incident response. Aggregation of risk factors can autonomously elevate alerts and containment controls including the trigger of Advanced Malware memory scans and additional forensics capture.
• APT Detection Module - Advanced malware detection powered by HBGary Digital DNA. Digital DNA is a signature-less approach to detect new or unknown malware with automated behavioral analysis of code in physical memory. The Digital Guardian APT Detection Module manages scans based on schedule or policy violation, and facilitates the retrieval of memory forensics to support incident response.

DG iOS Mobile App

IT Security managers struggle to understand what sensitive content is moving to mobile devices and how that content is being used. This is especially true for the many companies whose senior executives are using iPads and iPhones. Verdasys has extended the EIP platform to offer visibility and control over what sensitive data is moving to these devices and with the new DG Mobile App for iOS, monitoring and control of data usage on iPads and iPhones.

Digital Guardian 6.1 also continues Verdasys’ market leading OS support by initially releasing on Windows 7 and Widows 8. Shortly after the initial release, Verdasys will deliver Digital Guardian 6.1 support for Linux RedHat 6, Ubuntu 12.04 and Suse 11, and by the end of the year MAC OSX.
