BOSTON--()--FullArmor, a leader in enterprise policy management, today announced FullArmor RELM which secures disconnected endpoints by distributing and applying Group Policy through the Cloud. This capability enables organizations to continuously enforce corporate security policies on endpoints regardless of their location and ensures devices are always in compliance with regulatory requirements.
“FullArmor RELM uses the cloud to remotely monitor and manage Group Policy settings on endpoints, wherever they may be, to make sure security policies and regulatory compliance requirements are always enforced on the device.”
Group Policy Blind Spot
Group Policy is a Microsoft technology used by IT administrators to help secure and configure Windows-based servers, desktops and laptops. Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 along with Windows Server 2008 contain more than 3,000 Group Policy settings, but they were not designed to work outside a domain or network environment. FullArmor RELM “virtualizes” Group Policy so that these settings can be dynamically applied to devices from the cloud over a simple internet connection. It can enforce Group Policy on remote devices not part of an Active Directory domain, including roaming laptop users, tele-workers, branch office machines, point of sale terminals, classrooms, and kiosks.
“The cloud and mobile technologies are eroding the traditional IT perimeter within organizations, which makes applying, enforcing and auditing security policies with traditional on-premise tools like Active Directory almost impossible,” said Danny Kim, CTO of FullArmor. “FullArmor RELM uses the cloud to remotely monitor and manage Group Policy settings on endpoints, wherever they may be, to make sure security policies and regulatory compliance requirements are always enforced on the device.”
Centralized Group Policy Management
The FullArmor RELM client enforces Group Policy settings on endpoints, while the FullArmor RELM Cloud Console provides administrators with a centralized portal for targeting and distributing policy templates. Multiple templates can be assigned to device groups for granular flexibility and enforcement on the endpoint. Administrators can also receive compliance updates from endpoints based upon custom parameters. This combination of cloud administration and endpoint enforcement allows organizations to manage end points regardless of their physical location.
