LAS VEGAS--()--(TelcoTV Conference and Expo: Booth #616) — Allied Telesis, Inc., a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet switching solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks, announces the introduction of the SwitchBlade x8112 intelligent Layer 3+ core networking chassis. Ideally suited for scalable, high performance deployment in enterprise core networks, service provider metro-core, data center and high performance computing connectivity, the AT-SBx8112 provides high availability, density and performance, combined with the lowest power consumption in its category, at less than 10W per 10G port.
“As customer needs change, and the network evolves to on-demand SDN-cloud services, the x8112 is ready to meet the business demands of tomorrow.”
The AT-SBx8112 is a new member of the Allied Telesis SwitchBlade product family and powered by the Company’s AlliedWare Plus™ operating system, which includes IPv4/IPv6, Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack™) and resilient transport Ethernet Protection Switching Ring (EPSRing™) features. It is the optimum Layer 3+ solution for core enterprise networks, service providers’ metro-core, data center and high performance computing connectivity. Furthermore, the SwitchBlade x8112 includes separate data and control planes for future deployments in Software Defined Networks (SDN) and cloud networking environments.
“The SwitchBlade x8112 fundamentally raises the bar in terms of performance and flexibility,” said Jun Kohara, vice president of Global Product Management at Allied Telesis. “As customer needs change, and the network evolves to on-demand SDN-cloud services, the x8112 is ready to meet the business demands of tomorrow.”
Multiple SwitchBlade x8112s are networked together in a standard rack to achieve more than four (4) Terabits of switching capacity. The individual chassis offers a true non-blocking switching architecture, with up to 80 Gbps wirespeed per slot. Initial plug-in modules include 24/40-port GE, 24-port GE PoE+, 6/12-port 10GE SFP, dual redundant control supervisors and PSU modules.
Allied Telesis will feature the SwitchBlade x8112 and associated solutions at its TelcoTV Booth #616. Appointments with the team to discuss how to improve the core networking landscape may be scheduled by calling 1-800-424-4284.
