BALTIMORE--()--Vertis Communications, a results-driven marketing communications company, today announced that it has received seven Gold Ink Awards for printing excellence in the categories of Direct Mail, Digital Printing/Variable Data/Personalization, Brochures/Web and Sunday Magazines. The company’s work on behalf of clients such as Lincoln, The Washington Post, Houston Chronicle and the United States Postal Service, was selected from more than 1,000 total pieces based on criteria of print quality, level of technical difficulty and overall visual effect.
“Each award reflects our dedication to quality and excellence for our clients, no matter the medium, message or format, and we will continue to create outstanding work that helps them enhance communications with their customers.”
Vertis earned two gold awards, the highest honor of the competition, for distinguished print production on behalf of Lincoln and The Washington Post. For Lincoln, Vertis won in the Digital Printing/Variable Data/Personalization category for producing an innovative handraiser piece designed and created by Team Detroit for the luxury automobile company. Team Detroit customized the content and visual imagery included in the oversized four-color brochures that Vertis printed through its advanced digital production process in the company’s Digital Processing Center in Monroe Township, NJ. Vertis also earned a gold award in the Sunday Magazines category for producing The Washington Post’s Fashion Washington magazine. The 12 page, 12-inch by 21-inch piece, which featured large, bold graphics in vibrant four-color, was printed through heatset offset printing at the company’s Springfield, MA, facility.
“We are honored to be recognized once again in this esteemed competition, especially across multiple print mediums produced at various Vertis facilities across the country,” said Gerald Sokol Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer for Vertis Communications. “Each award reflects our dedication to quality and excellence for our clients, no matter the medium, message or format, and we will continue to create outstanding work that helps them enhance communications with their customers.”
Vertis received a silver award in the Sunday Magazines category for its work with Seattle Times’ “Pacific Northwest Magazine.” In addition, the Gold Ink Award team honored Vertis with four pewter awards for quality production of direct marketing packages for Chrysler Ram and the United States Postal Service, as well as Houston Chronicle’s “Gloss Magazine” and the “Florida Reflections” brochure for American Express.
Now in its 26th year, the Gold Ink Awards is considered the industry’s most prestigious print competition, sponsored by Publishing Executive, Printing Impressions and Book Business magazines. The submission process is highly competitive, with winning pieces surpassing competitors based on a variety of criteria and after close scrutiny and comparison.
