Teleflex Recognized with Excellence in Surgical Products Award for the Weck EFx™ Endo Fascial Closure System

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, has been recognized with another industry award for the new Weck EFx Endo Fascial Closure System. This distinction from Surgical Products magazine is the second award for the device; the first award was given by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and recognized the product as an Innovation of the Year.

Since its launch in July, the Weck EFx Endo Fascial Closure System has been used in over 2,000 successful procedures in over one hundred hospitals. The quick adoption of the closure system is attributed to the unique design that allows surgeons to achieve unassisted port-site closure that is consistent and uniform as well as helps to prevent post-operative port-site herniation.
