LIMERICK, Pa.--()--Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, has been recognized with another industry award for the new Weck EFx Endo Fascial Closure System. This distinction from Surgical Products magazine is the second award for the device; the first award was given by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and recognized the product as an Innovation of the Year.
“The growing awareness of this innovative device is increasing almost every day as more surgeons within the gynecology, bariatric, general and urology specialties continue to adopt the Weck EFx Closure System”
Since its launch in July, the Weck EFx Endo Fascial Closure System has been used in over 2,000 successful procedures in over one hundred hospitals. The quick adoption of the closure system is attributed to the unique design that allows surgeons to achieve unassisted port-site closure that is consistent and uniform as well as helps to prevent post-operative port-site herniation.
“The growing awareness of this innovative device is increasing almost every day as more surgeons within the gynecology, bariatric, general and urology specialties continue to adopt the Weck EFx Closure System,” said Jay White, Vice President and General Manager, Surgical Division of Teleflex. “This recognition comes just in time for our participation in the 41st American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) Annual Meeting in early November where we will also showcase our complete line of Weck® Access products, which provides surgeons confidence, clarity, and control from open to close.”
