ORANGE, Calif.--()--Volt Workforce Solutions, the staffing business unit of Volt Information Sciences, Inc., announced today that it received the 2012 Care Award for outstanding corporate social responsibility from the American Staffing Association. This national award recognizes social responsibility initiatives that produce an overall positive effect on society.
“It is with a great deal of pride that Volt accepts this honor once again from the American Staffing Association for our employment efforts on behalf of America’s military veterans”
For a second time, the Volt Military Heroes Program has earned the ASA Care Award for its commitment to providing meaningful employment opportunities for military veterans, spouses and wounded warriors.
Volt’s recognition derives from recent enhancements to the Volt Military Heroes Program, including program benchmarking, on-staff retired Military Program Advisors who are embedded in Volt field offices, along with expanded use of social media in veteran recruitment activities.
“It is with a great deal of pride that Volt accepts this honor once again from the American Staffing Association for our employment efforts on behalf of America’s military veterans,” said Jerry Shaw, Executive Vice President of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. “Understanding and tapping into the quality and diversity of this candidate pipeline offers a critical talent advantage for our clients. Our recent induction into the Military Spouse Employment Partnership also provides further support to military family members. Volt remains committed to honor the service and sacrifice of the men and women of our military with all the assistance and support they require to ensure their transition to successful civilian careers.”
Launched in 2009, the Volt Military Heroes Program is designed to provide career support and employment opportunities to transitioning military personnel, while simultaneously providing a valued service to clients, who need well-trained, qualified candidates. The objectives of the program are to: 1) recognize specific skill sets, training, leadership and other positive attributes of America’s military service members, 2) collaborate with clients to provide employment opportunities, and 3) establish the Volt Military Heroes Program with military family services organizations for employment of military family members and wounded warriors.
A panel of corporate social responsibility experts selects the Care Award winners. Winners of the ASA Care Awards were honored Oct. 11 at Staffing World® 2012, the ASA convention and expo, in Las Vegas.
