“Europe represents a strong growth opportunity for Entercoms, and Gavin’s leadership qualities coupled with his deep knowledge of service and supply chain operations will be a tremendous asset,” said Nitin Ahuja, chairman and CEO of Entercoms. “As the global economy gains momentum, we must be prepared to provide clients with our core intelligent services, regardless of where they’re doing business. Our new operation positions us to capitalize on opportunities with our existing client base, while enabling us to launch and sustain our rapid expansion.”
A native of Ireland, Murphy’s expertise encompasses manufacturing, forward logistics, postponement, reverse logistics and service operations. He was most recently with Flextronics, where he managed global supply chain within service operations for the EMS company. Murphy served in a variety of roles throughout western and northern Europe before ultimately managing global transportation, planning and procurement for 27 operations, spanning three major geographic regions.
“Establishing a new regional presence that is strategically positioned between North American and Asian time zones is a logical step for us as we continue to build upon the global success of Entercoms,” said Murphy. “The services business is about fast, predictive decision making to ensure customer satisfaction is delivered in a cost effective manner and this new addition to our global footprint will lend well to that strategy.”
