EarthLCD Introduces Smart, Touchscreen 3.5” Transflective Color LCD for Indoor or Outdoor Use

COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EarthLCD.com, the recognized leader in smart, touch LCDs announced the immediate availability of the ezLCD-313, a 3.5 inch smart, transflective, color LCD with touchscreen targeted for indoor, outdoor and high-ambient light applications. The ezLCD-313 is a new addition to the company’s third-generation family of smart LCD products that work with any microcontroller, including Arduino. It offers industrial and original equipment manufacturers a highly-functional, flexible and cost-effective alternative to buttons, character modules, super-twisted nematic (STN) displays, switches or even more complex graphical touch displays. The ezLCD-313 targets the automotive, avionic, embedded system, home automation, industrial control, instrumentation, kiosk, medical device, nautical, security, status monitoring and video equipment markets.

The ezLCD-313's “all-in-one” modular design unites a color, transflective LCD, touch screen, control electronics, memory and I/O with an easy-to-use USB programmable firmware environment. Serial terminal software is included and the EarthSEMPL language (Simple Embedded Macro Programming Language) allows users to quickly customize macros, graphical objects, fonts, images, and interfaces to allow a shortened product design cycle.

The ezLCD-313 features a 3.5 inch diagonal, transflective color TFT LCD providing 320x240 pixel resolution, 64k colors, 80 nit brightness, LED back light and an integrated four-wire resistive touchscreen. Its intelligent control module includes a graphics processing unit, four megabytes of flash memory, USB 2.0 and RS232/TTL interfaces. The ezLCD-313 operates at a +3.3V supply voltage, draws less than 180ma and offers a -20 to 60°C operating temperature range. It is RoHS compliant and measures 4.08x2.51x.86 inches.

Pricing for the ezLCD-313 starts at $219.00 each. The ezLCD-30x-EDK optional development kit is priced at $318.00 and includes the ezLCD-313 all-in-one touch module, ezLCD-301x-EDK board, two USB 2.0 mini-USB cables, 3.7V lithium battery, jumper shunts, screwdriver and standoffs.
