Hill Country Golf & Guitar Breaks Ground on Mini-Golf, Restaurant, Music Venue

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hill Country Golf & Guitar and Six String Grill owner and developer Rich Phillips hosted a groundbreaking celebration today overlooking the Hill Country terrain that will soon be home to a new 36-hole mini-golf course, restaurant and outdoor music venue.

“It will be the perfect first job for many in high school, and my hope is that our being here will help contribute to economic growth in the area.”

Phillips ceremoniously made the “first putt” and announced that construction will begin this fall and plans to complete the project by next summer, just in time for students, families, vacationers and other fun-seekers to enjoy the new 4-acre hotspot. Members of the design and development team from Balfour Beatty, Bury + Partners, Potter & Company and Overland Partners joined Phillips as they drove shovels into the ground to symbolize the start of new construction.

The core entertainment offering will be an 18-hole miniature golf course designed by Harris Mini-Golf (www.harrisminigolf.com). The course is designed to support a higher level of aesthetics with waterfalls, running streams and natural rock features. Construction on a second 18-hole course is planned for 2014.

Phillips said that he plans to hire as many as 60 people from managers to servers for the restaurant and mini-golf course. “It will be the perfect first job for many in high school, and my hope is that our being here will help contribute to economic growth in the area.”
