FAIRFAX, Va.--(American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) today announced its Associates Program aimed at providing professional development to an underserved segment of the government and industry community – new professionals entering government agencies and information technology (IT) companies.)--The
“Executives from both constituencies have asked us to help them teach their newest employees about the culture of the federal community. New employees don’t always have a broad perspective of how things work, and the Associates Program will help them get up the learning curve more rapidly.”
“The Associates Program is another way that ACT-IAC is listening to the needs of our members in government and industry,” said Kenneth Allen, ACT-IAC Executive Director. “Executives from both constituencies have asked us to help them teach their newest employees about the culture of the federal community. New employees don’t always have a broad perspective of how things work, and the Associates Program will help them get up the learning curve more rapidly.”
The Associates Program will give newer professional employees training in elements of culture and protocol not available in any existing courses. The emphasis will be on developing behavioral and communications skills to help portray a polished and professional individual brand. ACT-IAC created the Program to help future leaders absorb some of the lessons not taught in college to accelerate their career growth.
The Program will run from February through November 2013. Applications are being accepted now until December 15, 2012.
