MONTREAL--()--Currently in North America, high demand for speech therapy services combined with a short supply of speech therapy professionals has strained resources to service all students equitably. An estimated 300,000 children in North America currently have no access to much-needed speech therapy services due to geographic, social and economic conditions. TinyEYE Therapy Services advocates that children should have equal access to quality speech therapy, regardless of barriers.
“We are thankful to WITSA and ITAC for granting us with this important award, which we share with our schools, Speech-Language Pathologists, and students”
At their recent biennial conference in Montreal, the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) echoed these concerns by recognizing TinyEYE for Private Sector Excellence. For this prestigious global award, WITSA evaluated nominees based on global impact, market penetration and innovation. TinyEYE was selected because of their achievements in using information and communications technology to benefit societies, governments, individuals and educational institutions.
“We are proud to acknowledge this outstanding organization,” says ITAC President Karna Gupta. “Through their ground breaking work in the education sector, they have raised the bar for excellence in online therapy services and truly made a difference in the development of our youth.”
WITSA is a consortium of 83 leading Information and Communication Technology associations representing over 90% of the global ICT industry. WITSA Chairman Dato’ Dan Khoo and Karna Gupta, President and CEO of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) presented the award to Greg Sutton, CEO of TinyEYE Therapy Services at the Global ICT Excellence Awards on October 23, 2012.
“We are thankful to WITSA and ITAC for granting us with this important award, which we share with our schools, Speech-Language Pathologists, and students,” said Greg Sutton, CEO of TinyEYE. “At the end of the day, the outcomes of our students are our greatest accomplishment and truly the reason we exist as an organization. It’s our vision to be the number one advocate in the world for children finding their voice. This global award acknowledges our commitment to achieving this vision.”
