TXU Energy Brightens Holiday-Weary Lives with New Sweepstakes

Company invites Texas electricity customers to share why they deserve a break in 2013

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Have you ever longed for a holiday from the holidays? If so, TXU Energy has one lucky Texan covered for 2013: Now through Jan. 5, the company’s new Brighten Up Your Holiday with TXU Energy sweepstakes is offering Texas electricity customers chances to win a spring/summer vacation package to the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay (near San Francisco), including airfare, hotel and spending money for a rejuvenating 3-day spa stay for the winner and three friends.

Entering to win the spa trip is easy. New residential customers who sign up for any of the TXU Energy Free Nights plans, including those with a free Brighten® iThermostat, are automatically entered. So are existing customers who add the company’s programmable thermostat to any existing TXU Energy service plan or who use the TXU Energy MyEnergy Dashboard^SM, a free energy savings solution the company offers via txu.com/myaccount.

Social media also offers easy ways to play. Participants can tell TXU Energy why they deserve a post-holiday break on the dedicated sweepstakes tab on the company’s Facebook page or by following @TXUEnergy on Twitter and including #TXUEholiday in a tweet on why they deserve the break.

The new sweepstakes is open to Texas residents who are 18 or older. Alternative entry methods, full sweepstakes rules and details are available on the TXU Energy Facebook page. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The company will announce the grand-prize winner in early 2013.
