i3 Analytics, which offers the Biopharma Navigator, web-based software that provides users with an easy to use map of biopharmaceutical landscape of data from scientific research, clinical trials and regulatory submissions, is led by Will Zerhouni, president and CEO; Archna Bhandari, vice president of data and analytics; Kirk Baker, vice president of technical development; and David Mir, vice president of strategy and business development.

The i3 development team understands how to build connections between unstructured data from millions of documents. Members of the team played leading roles on the NIH dashboard project which led to the NIH Reporter. Since forming in 2011, i3 has worked exclusively on behalf of one of the world’s top-five pharmaceutical companies. Now the Biopharma Navigator, developed in partnership with that company, is available for small to mid-size biotech and pharmaceutical companies and other life science companies. By using natural language processing and extensive linking techniques, i3 provides deep insight into data and trends so business development, clinical development, R&D, regulatory and clinical affairs teams can make fast, intelligent decisions.
About the leadership team:
Will Zerhouni, President and Chief Executive Officer
Zerhouni
joined i3 Analytics with more than a decade of pharmaceutical and
biopharmaceutical experience. In April 2005, Will became an associate at
Covington & Burling and Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, D.C., where he
focused on patent litigation for Hatch-Waxman cases on behalf of
innovator pharmaceutical companies. Will also advised biopharmaceutical
and health care companies on patent portfolios and evaluated the
intellectual property of various growth stage companies. He also served
as an assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of
Florida. Zerhouni holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University and
is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
Archna Bhandari, Vice President of Data and Analytics
Bhandari
has more than 20 years of experience in data analytics, knowledge
representation, literature-based discovery and natural language
processing and data visualization. A thought leader in new technology
implementation, she sits at the intersection of research and innovation,
applying her depth of knowledge and engineering experience to achieve
breakthrough results. Prior to joining i3 Analytics, Archna was a senior
manager at Attain, a professional services company that delivers
solutions to public sector problems within government, health, higher
education and academic medical centers. She earned an M.S. in computer
science from Rochester Institute of Technology as well as a bachelor of
engineering in chemical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology
and Science.
Kirk Baker, Vice President of Technical Development
Baker
brings a unique skill set including expertise in theoretical algorithm
development and implementation as well as expert programming ability to
build practical, user-friendly software to meet the challenges of
biopharmaceutical companies. He has an extensive background in natural
language processing and statistical machine learning. In April 2010,
Kirk became a senior consultant at Attain, where he led a research
project in the National Institutes of Health's portfolio analysis group
that focused on designing and implementing scalable, efficient knowledge
discovery algorithms. He also served as a senior consultant and data
analyst at Collexis Holdings, Inc. He earned his Ph.D. in computational
linguistics at Ohio State University in 2008 and also has a master’s in
linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
David Mir, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development
Mir
has more than a decade of corporate strategy and commercial development
experience in finance and health care. Prior to joining i3 Analytics, he
worked in strategic transactions and business development at American
Express, as a commercial development manager at Genworth Financial, and
as senior manager of strategy and alliances at AOL. At Johns Hopkins
Hospital, he was a senior financial project analyst. David has an MBA in
finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business and a B.A. in
economics from Bucknell University.
