Senior Star at Wexford Place Retirement Community is set to Expand

Assisted Living and Memory Care apartment homes to be added

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Senior Star at Wexford Place, an award winning retirement community located at 6500 N. Cosby Avenue, is breaking ground on an addition to the campus that will create 67 more apartment homes and expand the amount of care offered to residents.

The new addition will be a single story, ranch style design located just south of the existing Independent Living building and will include 43 Assisted Living apartment homes for seniors who need more assistance and care and 24 Memory Care apartment homes for seniors facing Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Overland Park’s Purdum Construction has been hired for pre-development and construction management services for the project. Also engaged for the design are: Interior Design Associates, Inc., Schlagel and Associates, CFS Engineers, and Beery Rio Architects.

The expansion will include a new spa, resort style fire place, multi-purpose theater room, a learning enrichment room, a private dining room, a café and will be surrounded by mature landscaping.
