BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--()--HealthTrust’s Pharmacy Spend Diagnostics project was recognized for outstanding achievement in the use of data analytics to create business value by Teradata, an analytic data solutions company. HealthTrust won in the “On the Edge” category for implementations considered cutting-edge, industry-leading innovations.
“I’m grateful to our HealthTrust team and a core group of member advisors who have guided our development effort”
The EPIC awards recognize Teradata customers for their extraordinary innovation in the use of data analytics to create competitive advantage. HealthTrust was one of 16 winners announced during an awards ceremony on October 22 during PARTNERS, the Teradata User Group Conference and Expo.
Submissions in the “On the Edge” category were considered emerging, breakthrough and innovative business applications such as big data analytics, web intelligence and social media analytics; the use of data and analytics to pioneer new products, services or processes to help change the direction of an organization; systems that solve or address a problem that before seemed to be impossible.
Leigh Anderson, HealthTrust’s CIO says, “The Pharmacy Spend Diagnostics project has revolutionized the way HealthTrust and its members view and manage supply chain costs. By developing a robust spend analytics product that receives automated, daily procurement feeds from pharmaceutical wholesalers on a mobile device, HealthTrust is able to increase contract compliance and decrease supply chain costs for our members. This innovative solution is currently delivering real results, but is only scratching the surface of possibilities for what is to come. In the future, this EPIC solution will reflect 100 percent of a hospital’s spend, providing our members a comprehensive view of opportunity value.
“I’m grateful to our HealthTrust team and a core group of member advisors who have guided our development effort,” adds Ed Jones, president and CEO of HealthTrust. “I am very confident in the architecture and benchmarks that will enable best-in-class supply chain performance.”
