SAN DIEGO--()--Servant Leadership Institute (SLI), a forward-thinking leadership resource center, today announced that it will host its third annual winter conference from February 5-7, 2013, at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa. The conference theme, “uncharted territory,” reflects SLI’s aim to guide people on a journey into the uncharted territory of servant leadership using practical tools and transformative modes of thinking to improve performance, increase leadership effectiveness, and provide sustainable results.
“Leadership for the sake of others, in any organization, is best implemented holistically. Our goal is to challenge traditional perceptions of leadership and enable integration of servant leadership in our own environments.”
The Servant Leadership Winter Conference provides a unique opportunity for leaders in the public, private, and social sectors to understand servant leadership as the most effective method of leadership, one that treats people with dignity and respect while remaining committed to achieving results.
Conference guest speakers will include:
- Ronnie Andrews, president of Medical Sciences’ effort at Life Technologies
- Colleen Barrett, president emeritus of Southwest Airlines
- Cheryl Bachelder, CEO of Popeyes Louisiana Chicken
- Tony Baron, author and president of SLI
- Art Barter, founder and CEO of SLI and CEO of Datron World Communications, Inc.
- Mark Larson, national radio talk show host
- John Maxwell and Ken Blanchard, leadership experts and bestselling authors
- Datron World Communications’ management team
“We’re fortunate to have such esteemed speakers at our third conference,” Barter said. “If you’re in a position of influence, a leader who’s tired of the traditional models of power and intimidation, you need to attend. Begin transforming your organization from any level and watch employees’ respect grow beyond your own expectations.”
“A growing global movement called servant leadership has been called the most successful leadership strategy in overcoming lackluster employee performances, poor financial results, and executive self-interests,” added Baron. “Leadership for the sake of others, in any organization, is best implemented holistically. Our goal is to challenge traditional perceptions of leadership and enable integration of servant leadership in our own environments.”
The Servant Leadership Winter Conference will provide a safe setting for open and honest dialogue about the means to achieve better leadership in any organization. Registration information is available at http://servantleadershipinstitute.cvent.com or by calling 855-SLI-LEAD.
