NEW YORK--()--Lela.com, a website that helps consumers make better purchase decisions by freeing them of advertising and other outside marketing influences, announced today that it has introduced toys as one of its product category selections.
“Our research has shown that our model works incredibly well in the toy category and can help parents dramatically increase the likelihood of buying toys that are most consistent with their values, lifestyle, and budget. We expect that toys will be one of our most successful categories.”
“Buying toys can often be an incredibly stressful and challenging ordeal because these products are typically marketed with heavy tinges of emotion and sentiment,” said Lela CEO Robert Davidson. “Our research has shown that our model works incredibly well in the toy category and can help parents dramatically increase the likelihood of buying toys that are most consistent with their values, lifestyle, and budget. We expect that toys will be one of our most successful categories.”
Launched in beta in November 2011, Lela is a website that allows consumers to make better shopping choices based on their actual needs and priorities. Visitors to the site who answer some seemingly simple questions can instantly be matched to products that were designed to appeal to their profile characteristics. Lela has identified and categorized the brand characteristics of tens of thousands of products in select categories.
Lela does not accept advertising, thereby ensuring its independence and brand neutrality. Visitors to the site can buy products from the websites of all the leading retailers. Lela doesn’t sell or share the consumer profiles it develops with any outside parties.
Lela’s other product category selections include essential baby gear such as cribs, car seats, and strollers, as well as various electronic products such as televisions, DVD players, and digital cameras. It plans to add kitchen appliances, from espresso makers to refrigerators, early next year.
Lela (www.lela.com) is an online shopping assistant that helps match parents to family-friendly products using proprietary and intuitive technology. Lela's Compatibility Quiz analyzes shoppers on multiple levels – their style, values, dreams, and imagination – and uses these qualities to identify products suited to them. This makes for product recommendations that are truly meaningful, not simply based on ratings or reviews. For parents looking for something specific, Lela also offers a lifestyle-based search feature that allows parents to find baby gear for their distinctive needs. Lela cuts through the clutter and confusion of the over-saturated product market so that families can spend less time shopping and more time enjoying the products that are right for them.
