LOS ANGELES--()--Iconic Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles came alive on Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2012, as more than 8,000 people turned out for “go2bat4LIFE,” the largest pro-LIFE party in America. The event was presented by LIFEsocal, a non-profit organization formed in 2009 by a group of high school and college students dedicated to making the pro-LIFE cause more socially mainstream by hosting fun, youth-targeted events.
After welcoming messages from Dodger baseball legends Tommy Lasorda and Vin Scully, Integrity Music recording artist Lincoln Brewster rocked the stadium crowd. Opening for Lincoln Brewster were the Gospel reggae act Christafari, and the teen sensation band Canto.
LIFEsocal Executive Director Carol Golbranson commented, “The idea behind go2bat4LIFE was to do something that was unique, fun, and that put a fresh face on the pro-LIFE cause—I think we hit it out of the park! You could feel the energy in the stadium and you could see on the faces in the crowd, a renewed commitment to stand up for LIFE. I’m not sure how we are going to top this event in the future, but we are certainly going to try.”
Throughout the afternoon, fans were treated to an array of carnival games in the Dodger Stadium outfield, and a diverse collection of Los Angeles’s most sought after craft food trucks. go2bat4LIFE also featured an all-star lineup of speakers including, LIVE ACTION Founder Lila Rose, internationally renowned musician and actor Eduard Verastegui, Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez, teenage actor from For Greater Glory, Mauricio Kuri, and civil rights leader and pro-LIFE champion Pastor Walter Hoye.
Golbranson stated, “One of the most effective ways to change the cultural narrative about abortion is to communicate to young people that it is cool to be pro-LIFE; that it is cool to live your faith. When the world realizes that the pro-LIFE cause is not just a bunch of old, boring conservatives, but a new generation of energetic young women and men who don’t fit that old stereotype, people will begin to look at abortion differently. At LIFEsocal we are trying to help bring about that change.”

LIFEsocal, was formed in 2009 by a group of high school and college students, who believe that from the moment of conception, all babies deserve LIFE (Life Is For Everyone).
Our primary goal is to motivate teens and young adults in Southern California to believe in LIFE, stand up for LIFE, and do something positive for LIFE, with the hope of ending abortion. We believe that offering fun, youth-targeted events will encourage young people to join pro-LIFE activity in a positive way, By making the pro-LIFE cause more socially mainstream, our efforts will help neutralize the stigma that many in the pro-choice movement and the media seek to apply to LIFE.
