PITTSBURGH--()--Officials representing Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. today launched a community program in Pittsburgh entitled “Spaghetti for Socks” – the purpose of which is to provide one coupon for a $6 Spaghetti entrée in exchange for a donation of one or more pairs of men’s, women’s or children’s socks to a local rescue mission.
“On behalf of everyone at Spaghetti Warehouse, we are pleased to help provide support to the Light of Life Rescue Mission and to all of those served by their good and compassionate work”
Beginning Tuesday, November 27th through Monday, December 24th, each pair of socks – collected at Spaghetti Warehouse – will be donated to the Light of Life Rescue Mission in Pittsburgh. The restaurant is located in the city’s Strip District at 2601 Smallman Street.
The coupon is redeemable for a $6 Spaghetti and Meatballs entrée and includes a choice of Fresh Garden Salad or Savory Soup and fresh-baked Sourdough Bread.
“At this time of year, as the weather gets colder, there is a great need for basic items including food, shelter and clothing. And, one of those items is a warm pair of socks,” said Jessi Marsh, director of development, Light of Life Rescue Mission in Pittsburgh. “Everyone who makes a donation is directly helping homeless men, women and children in the Greater Pittsburgh area and we appreciate the kindness and generosity expressed by Spaghetti Warehouse and their many guests.”
Founded in 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission is committed to saving and transforming the lives of those in need and empowers men, women and children to overcome extreme adversities and gain the skills for lifelong achievement.
“On behalf of everyone at Spaghetti Warehouse, we are pleased to help provide support to the Light of Life Rescue Mission and to all of those served by their good and compassionate work,” said Azam Malik, president and chief operating officer, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc.
