LAFAYETTE, Ind.--()--Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) in Lafayette (formerly Open MRI of Lafayette) has recently moved into a new facility to expand its imaging service offerings to include high-field Open MRI and low-dose CT (available by late December).
“The new center builds upon CDI’s promise to provide patients and physicians with access to advanced imaging services in a responsive manner, which often includes same-day appointments.”
“We are excited to be expanding the range of services we have provided the physicians and patients of Lafayette for the last 15 years,” states Glenn Tuckman, M.D., radiologist and medical director of CDI of Lafayette. “The new center builds upon CDI’s promise to provide patients and physicians with access to advanced imaging services in a responsive manner, which often includes same-day appointments.”
The new Hitachi Oasis 1.2T High-Field Open MRI scanner provides state-of-the-art image quality without sacrificing comfort. The open design of this scanner is ideal for claustrophobic patients and accommodates patients of all sizes (up to 660 lbs. depending on patient-specific measurements), allowing most patients to be scanned without sedation. The advanced technology behind this MRI helps reveal more detail than traditional open-sided scanners, for a more accurate diagnosis.
The GE BrightSpeed Low-Dose CT scanner – available late December – includes adaptive technology that studies have shown to reduce radiation dose up to 40 percent with no compromise in image quality.
As an independent outpatient provider, CDI gives patients access to these new imaging technologies at a cost that is often times 30% lower than hospital-based providers.
“Our growth strategy is to focus on the needs of the communities we serve,” states Laura Stark, vice president of operations at CDI. “We are committed to investing in new technology to continue to provide high-quality imaging and exceptional customer service to area patients and physicians.”
The new facility is located at 3738 Landmark Drive, Suite D in Lafayette. Dr. Tuckman will continue to provide on-site care, consultations, and specialized interpretations.
