NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--InVivoLink, the leading developer of clinically integrated solutions for orthopedic and spine implant procedures, today announced an agreement to deploy its products in 12 of Hospital Corporation of America’s TriStar Division Hospitals in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. InVivoLink’s solutions are already being used to help manage orthopedic implant procedures in two TriStar hospitals, as well as other health systems throughout the country. InVivoLink also announced the closing of Series B funding, which included Health Insight Capital, a subsidiary of HCA, and follow-on investors BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, and Sandbox Industries. This funding provides the necessary capital to scale InVivoLink’s patient engagement platform and expand the network across multiple specialties, such as cardiovascular.
“InVivoLink is leading the market in promoting a team approach to surgical implant care delivery that is essential for a patient-centered healthcare system.”
Under the agreement, InVivoLink will enable collection and analysis of clinical outcomes data on orthopedic and spine procedures while improving the patient’s experience across the entire care episode, from registration to post-operative rehabilitation. InVivoLink’s web-based platform automates the common manual activities that lead up to and follow implant procedures, including inventory planning and preparation as well as order processing. Meanwhile, the data collected creates a level III national implant registry that will scale across HCA’s hospitals, fostering improved patient safety.
“The platform allows HCA to support physicians’ practice of evidence-based medicine while improving patient experience, elevating clinical outcomes, and controlling costs,” said Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, president, Clinical and Physician Services Group, and chief medical officer of HCA.
InVivoLink’s solutions reveal unprecedented, actionable data that help physicians understand and manage, in real time, their patient populations across the episode of care. This enables physicians to coordinate care and make timely adjustments to rehabilitation for individual patients, as well as make choices based on powerful and unique clinical analytics when determining the best approach for future patients. InVivoLink provides powerful analytics, including how patients are trending after surgery, outcomes based on specific product usage, outcomes based on co-morbidities, peer-comparison data and trend-lines, and even custom intraoperative research data.
Health system and hospital operators gain quality and cost data on each step of orthopedic and spine-implant care pathways, including outcomes specific to surgical technique, patient populations, rehabilitation pathways, device costs and effectiveness, and supply chain costs and inefficiencies. The objective, comprehensive view facilitates effective partnerships between health system management and physician teams, and leads to sustainable quality and cost-savings strategies that maximize orthopedic service line value.
“The investment from Health Insight Capital and deployment across HCA’s TriStar Division provides an integrated, coordinated network to execute on our vision of optimizing the episode of care for implant related procedures in order to deliver value to patients, providers, and payors alike,” said Ryan Wells, chief executive officer of InVivoLink. “InVivoLink is leading the market in promoting a team approach to surgical implant care delivery that is essential for a patient-centered healthcare system.”
