PHILADELPHIA--()--Janney Capital Markets today announced that it has deepened its Equity Research and Investment Banking capabilities with the addition of a health care vertical and hiring of five talented and experienced professionals from ThinkEquity.

The additions—including senior research analysts, Spencer Nam, Jim Molloy and Kimberly Lee, D.O., as well as senior investment bankers, Josh Muntner and Richard Page—have compiled an impressive track record of success and are known in the industry for their ability to build a quality business.

Nam will lead the medical device and diagnostics research effort and will be based in Boston. Prior to ThinkEquity, he served as a senior research analyst at Madison Williams as well as Director of Research at Summer Street Research Partners. Nam received a B.A. from Harvard University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
The specialty pharmaceutical space will be covered by Molloy, also based in Boston. Prior to ThinkEquity, Molloy held senior research positions at Caris & Company and Oppenheimer & Company. He received his B.A. from the University of Colorado and his M.B.A. from Babson College.
Lee will cover the biotechnology sector and will be based in San Francisco. Prior to ThinkEquity, she was a senior biotech analyst at Global Hunter Securities where she was a founding member of the healthcare practice. Lee also has covered the biotechnology sector at both Pacific Growth Equities and Jefferies, and has worked as a physician in obstetrics and gynecology, and in orthopedic surgery research. Lee received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and her D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The New York-based investment banking team will be led by Muntner and Page. Collectively, the pair has over 30 years of life sciences investment banking experience. Prior to ThinkEquity, Muntner held senior positions at Oppenheimer & Co. and its predecessor firm, CIBC World Markets, as well as with Prudential Vector. He received a B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA. Page, prior to ThinkEquity, worked as a senior advisor at JSB-Partners, focusing on pharmaceutical product partnering. He also held senior banking positions at ING Barings and JMP Securities, after receiving his B.A. from Haverford College.
