SAN RAMON, Calif.--()--24 Hour Fitness is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its new location at San Diego’s newly renovated Westfield UTC Mall. The much-anticipated 24 Hour Fitness® UTC Super-Sport club located at 4425 La Jolla Village Dr. will replace the original 24 Hour Fitness Active club located nearby at 4405 La Jolla Village Drive – which closes its doors on Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. The new, larger club will open the following day, Saturday, Dec. 15 at 6 a.m.
“24 Hour Fitness has been part of the San Diego community for 30 years, and our original UTC Active club is one of our company’s oldest locations with very dedicated, long-time members”
The new 24 Hour Fitness location is part of the company’s investment of more than $20 million in the San Diego area – one of the fitness club chain’s most substantial market investments within the last five years.
“24 Hour Fitness has been part of the San Diego community for 30 years, and our original UTC Active club is one of our company’s oldest locations with very dedicated, long-time members,” said Danny De La Rosa, division president, 24 Hour Fitness. “We are especially excited to open the doors of our new Super-Sport club which will provide members and guests much more space to work out, and offer the latest amenities and equipment that 24 Hour Fitness has to offer. It is our hope that the investments we make in the San Diego area today will help the community to stay active today, tomorrow and many years from now.”
To celebrate, 24 Hour Fitness invites the community to stop by on grand opening day for complimentary VIP club tours. Beginning at 6 a.m. and throughout the day, event attendees will also have the opportunity to sample several Group X® classes, including Cycle, Les Mills BODYPUMP™, Yoga and Zumba®.
Jad Attili, a 27-year veteran of 24 Hour Fitness, will serve as club manager and will oversee more than 250 team members at the new Super-Sport club. The facility will span approximately 45,000 square feet and will feature an additional 7,000 square feet of outdoor training space – more than triple the size of the original 15,000 square foot Active club.
