Incrementum III, Art Benefitting alley’s house - To Break the Cycle of Teen Pregnancy

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A baby is born to a teenage mother every ten minutes in Texas according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Dallas was reported as the number one city in repeat teen births in Texas. alley’s house is a non-profit organization located in east Dallas that works with teen mothers to provide the education and resources they need to gain independence, gain freedom from poverty, and break the cycle of teen pregnancy.

Incrementum III, 9^th Annual Art Auction benefitting alley’s house will be held on February 2, 2013 from 7 pm – 11 pm to raise funds to empower teen moms in the Dallas area to gain independence for themselves and their children.

Incrementum is Latin for the spirit of growth and increase. Incrementum exists not only to grow and enhance lives and opportunities of the teen mothers and their children at alley’s house, but to the participating artists as well. alley’s house has provided each participating artist with a canvas to donate to the art auction and will share half of the amount of the sale of each painting to the artist as a way to support the artists who are supporting alley’s house.

This amazing event will showcase over 90 original works of art created by local Dallas artists. Douglas Winters III, Joey Brock, and Kiki Curry are a few of the amazing artists in this year’s show. There will be 12, 36” x 48” paintings and over 80, 24” x 24” paintings. The 36” x 48” paintings will be sold in a live auction format and the 24” x 24” paintings will be sold in a silent auction format. Bidding starts at $150, so there is sure to be a piece to fit every style and price range at the art auction.

The event will be held in the up and coming Gallery at MIDTOWN, located at 13331 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75240. This beautiful, spacious, and unique space is the perfect backdrop for this fantastic event.

Admission tickets to the art auction are $25 and include complimentary beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres, live jazz music from The Brehms, and the opportunity to mix and mingle with the participating artists at the event.
