PRINCETON, N.J.--()--Munich Health North America (MHNA) announced today that David Sipprell will lead a newly created Managed Care unit. Mr. Sipprell was previously with Allianz Life for 19 years where he helped lead their Managed Care business and was instrumental in building the Broker Distribution channel.

Mr. Sipprell, who will be based in Minneapolis, will report directly to Ms. Peterson and be responsible for growing MHNA’s managed care excess business. “I look forward to the opportunity to join the Munich Health team,” he said. “By working closely with their reinsurance and stop loss units, we will be able to offer our brokers and managed care clients the full range of Munich Health’s risk solutions.”
MHNA’s new Managed Care unit, which will be responsible for HMO Re and Provider Excess business, is expected to go live March 1. During the next few months Mr. Sipprell with be meeting with brokers and clients and establishing the Minneapolis office. During that time existing managed care business will continue to be handled by the current underwriting teams. In March existing business will begin transitioning to the new unit.
