NEWBURYPORT, Mass.--(full-service public relations and social media agency specializing in technology and consumer markets, announced 20 percent YOY growth and a 20 percent addition to staff in 2012, bolstering its reputation as one of the fastest-growing hybrid PR firms in Greater Boston and the United States.)--Matter Communications, a
“We’re fortunate to have enjoyed sustained growth for several years running”
This was the fifth consecutive year of growth of nearly 20 percent, a notable accomplishment against the backdrop of a multi-year economic recession that saw many PR firms lay off workers, slash benefits and, in some cases, draw the curtains on their businesses.
As part of the company’s commitment to scale intelligently, Matter Founder and CEO Scott Signore also added 20 percent more staff in 2012 (60 in total, doubling since 2008) and dramatically expanded the company’s physical presence. The award-winning PR agency now operates with nearly 12 thousand sq. ft. of space across headquarters in Newburyport, MA, and its burgeoning office in Providence, RI.
“We’re fortunate to have enjoyed sustained growth for several years running,” Signore said. “I attribute our success to three key things: hiring and retaining the very best talent who know how to drive measurable business results, partnering with forward-looking clients who appreciate those results, and enhancing our PR programming with a breadth of creative services offerings,” Signore said.
Signore said other key contributors to Matter’s growth include a suite of innovative service offerings and key hires, such as:
- Precision, a laser-focused program customized for clients with unique and often highly targeted PR and social media needs.
- Studio-C, an in-house creative services group that creates visually arresting video, images, infographics and other key elements for successful content marketing and PR.
- High profile talent additions in 2012 include Vice President of Marketing and Communications Parry Headrick (formerly vice president of marketing at SHIFT Communications in San Francisco); Executive Vice President Tim Hurley (formerly founder of ThinkMedia Partners); Account Leader Jennifer Karin (award-winning writer and former PR agency principal); and Director Susan Peters (formerly of GolinHarris and Ketchum).
“We’ve got an all-star cast, and we’re well-positioned to do stellar work for clients in 2013 and beyond,” Signore added.
