DENVER--(TriZetto Corporation today announced that a highly specialized Medicaid care coordination plan in Washington, D.C., has selected integrated technology and services solutions from TriZetto to enhance the delivery of benefits and care to its members and support the plan’s intended expansion into new markets.)--
“HSCSN intends to leverage its specialized, niche expertise to expand into other metropolitan areas and partner with healthcare payers that serve young adults with disabilities and chronic illness. This health plan is poised for growth, and TriZetto’s technology platform will scale to it.”
Health Services for Children With Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN), serves 5,400 children and youth in the District of Columbia. Its members have a range of life challenges including high-need social determinants of health, mental health disorders, developmental disabilities such as autism, and severe medical conditions such as cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis.
“HSCSN is committed to helping this population of children and youth with extremely challenging, complex and costly conditions that are significantly impacted by social determinants,” noted Thomas W. Chapman, president and CEO of The HSC Foundation, the parent organization of HSCSN. “Our care managers work with each member and their families to assess their medical and social needs and communicate regularly with them to help manage and improve their health outcomes. TriZetto’s end-to-end solutions will enhance our holistic approach by providing a complete, single-source view of each member’s care and claims information.”
Chapman said that HSCSN’s holistic approach to member benefits and care relies on more than just clinical information. A “home environmental scan” is conducted to check for issues such as lead in the home and to gauge family support and resources.
“TriZetto’s integrated enterprise administration and care management platform will allow our care managers to track these highly important social determinants, accurately stratify our population and provide tailored interventions and member communications that can improve clinical outcomes and quality,” said Chapman.
TriZetto’s enterprise administration and care management systems scale to growth, and this figured in HSCSN’s selection of the solutions over competitor products, according to Rob Scavo, president of the regional accounts market for TriZetto. “HSCSN intends to leverage its specialized, niche expertise to expand into other metropolitan areas and partner with healthcare payers that serve young adults with disabilities and chronic illness. This health plan is poised for growth, and TriZetto’s technology platform will scale to it.”
With its plans for growth, and with more than 60 percent of its employees performing care management functions, HSCSN opted for application management services from TriZetto. “TriZetto has the technology expertise and staff, and this will make it easier for us to expand geographically. There’ll be no need to install servers and interface engines in multiple locations,” said Chapman. “Most importantly, application implementation and management by TriZetto will free us to continue to focus on what we do best – deliver the benefits and care that are critically needed by HSCSN’s members and their families.”
Application management and infrastructure services eliminate the work and burden of owning, managing and maintaining hardware and software, while providing a reliable technology platform that supports business success. TriZetto-managed applications get to market 22 percent faster on average than do non-hosted client implementations. Application management clients experience 23-percent faster resolution of software issues and enjoy optimal performance and availability. Additionally, application management services offer predictable, level costs and favorable total cost of ownership.
HSCSN will go live on the TriZetto systems in 2013.
