AmeriPath and Cockerell & Associates Announce New Relationship

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dr. Clay Cockerell, managing director of Cockerell & Associates, (a Dermpath Diagnostics^® practice), today announced that he will be leaving Cockerell & Associates to establish a new, Dallas-based, independent dermatopathology laboratory — Cockerell Dermatopathology. The parties have reached an agreement that will result in the transition of services from Cockerell & Associates to Cockerell Dermatopathology.

During the transition, projected for completion during the summer of 2013, Dr. Cockerell will continue to render dermatopathology services through Cockerell & Associates and both parties remain committed to the delivery of world-class dermatopathology services.

Dr. Cockerell is a world-renowned dermatologist and dermatopathologist and is recognized as one of the leading experts in his field. He is a past president and secretary-treasurer of the American Academy of Dermatology, the largest dermatology organization in the world. Dr. Cockerell also serves as a clinical professor of dermatology and pathology and director of the division of dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
