BOSTON--()--Walk This Way, a nationwide hands-on dog training program, makes its South Florida debut next month, with classes across the region beginning Feb. 16 through March. Walk This Way specializes in methods proven and guaranteed to result in good walking manners (no pulling, jumping, lunging) and eliminate unwanted social behaviors (nipping, excessive barking). The program helps pet care professionals, including daycare owners and staff, dog walkers and sitters, groomers, boarders, veterinarians, and other trainers, enhance their businesses, as well as individuals and families curb the most common but difficult behaviors.
“Even when trying to correct the simplest of behavioral issues, people often don’t get the intended results, so they become convinced training doesn’t help.”
Walk This Way founder, Laurie Wagner, who owns one of New England’s premier daycare facilities, Doggie Fun & Fitness Center, is a lifelong pet lover and advocate with a mission to bring her calm, assertive leadership style – much like that used by Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan – to professionals and dog owners across the East coast and nationally. Those interested in classes can inquire at info@walkthisway-fordogs.com.
For more than a decade, Wagner and her team have built a large following and reputation based on the effective training approaches they’ve used successfully to help hundreds of people and dogs, often when previous training has failed. “Almost everyone we work with has tried professional training with limited results,” said Wagner. “Even when trying to correct the simplest of behavioral issues, people often don’t get the intended results, so they become convinced training doesn’t help.”
Wagner’s teaching methods focus on a natural, balanced communication style that dogs comprehend and respond to in a way that ensures lasting, positive results well beyond the classroom. After just a few hours, participants are prepared to apply what they’ve learned and enjoy an enhanced quality of life with their dog, or the dogs in their care.
Wagner added, “Walk This Way helps people learn to communicate with dogs in a way that is comforting and loving, while also balancing that with leadership and guidance. Daycare and boarding owners love our programs because they’re able to create a calm, quiet environment, resulting in happier dogs, clients and staff.”
