India Community Center: “Sevathon” 5K/10K/Half Marathon on Sunday, July 14 @ Sunnyvale Baylands Park

So, runners, walkers and fun lovers take notice: Sevathon 2013 will be a year like no other. This event for the entire family, now in its fifth year, will be held on July 14 at Sunnyvale's Baylands Park: www.sevathon.org.

You Must Be the Change

"Seva" means service in Sanskrit. Sevathon brings together over 60 Bay Area non-profit partners and thousands of their members to promote the spirit of service to others. Over 2,000 people walked or ran in 2012. Last year the event raised over $100,000 for our amazing partners, Isha Vidya Foundation raised $30,000 in donations alone. Sevathon’s 2012 gold sponsors Citrix and Hitachi Consulting as well as our other sponsors help make this event a reality. We have a lofty goal of 100 non-profit partners and 5,000 runners this year so please help us make Sevathon one of the most diverse walks in the Bay Area. Sevathon is more than just a marathon; it is a festival and a symbol of the coming together of the entire community.

At Sevathon, walkers and runners raise money for any of the participating Sevathon non-profit partners of their choice. These partners consist of passionate people who work tirelessly to effect change, whether in the Bay Area or on the other side of the planet. They deliver solar lights to villages in Africa. They teach reading and writing to the poor in India. They care for victims of domestic violence in California. They do astounding things. They are the change they wish to see in this world, and they want YOU to help.
