DALLAS--()--Accent on Integration® (AOI®), a leading provider of integration software and medical device connectivity solutions, today announced that Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, in Valencia, Calif., will leverage AOI’s Accelero Connect® healthcare integration platform to automate how vital signs data is captured and recorded. With Accelero Connect, the hospital can integrate its Philips IntelliVue Patient Monitors with its MEDITECH HIS and MEDITECH Emergency Department Management (EDM) solution, which will help enhance patient care and safety by streamlining clinician workflow and reducing the risk of possible documentation errors.
“AOI shares Henry Mayo’s commitment to safe, patient-centered care, and we look forward to building a strong relationship as we work with the hospital to interconnect its disparate technologies and ensure the high availability of patient-specific information.”
Henry Mayo purchased an enterprise licensing agreement from AOI to integrate devices with clinical systems in its ICU and emergency department (ED), as well as in several other departments in the future. In addition, Henry Mayo will utilize AOI’s ADT interface, so it can apply multiple patient-matching strategies to ensure accuracy and create more complete longitudinal records.
“Currently, nurses write down vital sign data then manually enter it into our information systems, which duplicates processes and can delay the availability of patient information. With Accelero Connect, patient data will flow into our HIS and EDM solution in real-time, giving ICU and ED nurses more time to spend caring for patients instead of handling data capture and data entry,” said Cindy Peterson, vice president and CIO at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. “After looking at several vendors, hospital leadership was drawn to AOI because Accelero Connect is an enterprise solution and vendor-agnostic. Additionally, AOI brings extensive integration knowledge and experience, and its ability to integrate patient care devices with the MEDITECH EDM solution was something that other vendors were unable to do.”
The cost-effective nature of Accelero Connect also appealed to Henry Mayo executives. It is unique in that it is a software-only solution, meaning additional hardware does not need to be purchased.
“Integration and data-sharing technologies play a significant role in helping hospitals and healthcare organizations reach their healthcare goals, and Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital truly recognizes the power and impact these solutions have on patient care and clinician workflow,” said Marc C. Andiel, co-founder and CEO of AOI. “AOI shares Henry Mayo’s commitment to safe, patient-centered care, and we look forward to building a strong relationship as we work with the hospital to interconnect its disparate technologies and ensure the high availability of patient-specific information.”
