LMI Joins Brookings’ 21st Century Defense Initiative Working Group

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LMI will join the Brookings Institute’s 21st Century Defense Initiative working group to aid in the study of the future of the national security industrial base. LMI, a not-for-profit with a 50-year history in support of the public sector, offers extensive military and federal sector expertise on the management of people, processes, policies, and assets.

LMI’s participation will begin at Brookings’ “Warriors Against Waste: Cutting Defense Spending through Reform?” event on January 24, 2013, where participants will discuss the future of the U.S. defense budget, with a particular focus on reforms and efficiencies. The panel will include LMI Executive Vice President Dr. William B. Moore and LMI Program Manager Dr. Nick Avdellas.

The goal of the Brookings Institute’s working group is to establish a community of interested scholars and practitioners who can exchange views and learn from each other in an attempt to push forward discussion on this important but complex issue. Over the last two years, they have regularly met to identify and study the key policy questions surrounding the future of the national security industrial base.
