Rent-A-Center’s “Operation: Just Like Home” Supports Military Families

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rent-A-Center today concluded an annual initiative dubbed “Operation: Just Like Home.” In support of the US military, the initiative got under way early last year at the Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu in California and came to a close today at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The year-long effort saw Rent-A-Center provide brand new name-brand merchandise to 12 military installations across the country. The aid came in the form of furniture, electronics, computers and appliances.

Valued at over $100,000, the Rent-A-Center-supplied merchandise was aimed at providing a more comfortable and relaxing on-base environment for servicemembers, veterans and their families.

Reflecting a cross section of the country, the 12 installations Rent-A-Center visited are: U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii; U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Detrick, Maryland; Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, California; Marine Corps Mountain Training Center, California; Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, California; Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island; Submarine Base New London, Connecticut; NSA North West Annex, Virginia; NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex, Virginia; and Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
