ROGERS, Minn.--()--Direct Digital Controls, Inc., a building automation and energy management systems provider, has announced that it is changing its name to HumeraTech and relocating to a new, larger facility in Rogers, Minnesota. The decision to adopt a new name was made to communicate the company’s continued goal of making building automation technology more intuitive and user-friendly for the people that implement, use and benefit from it. The new facility will bring jobs to the local community and accommodate the company’s growing operations.
“‘HumeraTech’ embodies the goal of our business from the start: to bring people and technology together”
The transition to the new name and facility are both expected to be finalized by February 1, 2013. According to the company, the new name is intended to better communicate the company’s goal of making it easier to benefit from building automation technology. The combination of “Humera” and “Tech” signifies a connection between people and technology.
“‘HumeraTech’ embodies the goal of our business from the start: to bring people and technology together,” said Michael Day, president of Direct Digital Controls. “Our focus is to provide solutions for building owners and managers that make the benefits of building automation technology easier to attain.”
The move will relocate 50 jobs to Rogers, MN and is expected to result in additional jobs in 2013 as the company grows into its new space. The 13,800 square-foot new facility in Rogers, MN will provide over 6,000 square feet of additional space for the growing company and its employees. A portion of the new, larger facility includes exposed ductwork, which will be used for hands-on customer training sessions that demonstrate an active building automation system.
“We’ve grown at an average annual rate of 7.4 percent over the past 5 years, and this move is important as we continue along that path,” said Day. “We’re excited about re-establishing our roots in the Rogers area and the opportunities that it will provide for our employees, customers and the local community.”
