LONDON--()--2012 was a record year for sourcing specialists Trade Extensions as it recorded a 19% growth in revenue and generated increased profits.
“2012 was a good year and we are picking up new customers while our existing customers are staying with us and finding they can do even more with our platform than they originally thought.”
A combination of some major new customers and increased sales from existing users was responsible for the growth as Trade Extensions increased its number of customers by 12% and the average sales value per customer was up by six percent.
Growth was experienced globally with the USA experiencing a 33% increase in sales. The USA is Trade Extensions largest market accounting for 50% of revenue with the remaining revenue generated in Europe and an increasing proportion coming from other regions.
Trade Extensions, CEO, Garry Mansell, said, “2012 was a good year and we are picking up new customers while our existing customers are staying with us and finding they can do even more with our platform than they originally thought.”
Sourcing remains Trade Extensions core business but during 2012 the company began to develop uses for its platform that go ‘Beyond Sourcing’ and this strategy contributed significantly to the overall growth. Beyond Sourcing projects utilise the platform’s flexibility and analytical capabilities that mean it can be configured to model and optimise practically any resource allocation problem. During 2012 the platform was used to run projects including supply chain design and production planning and it is predicted that ‘Beyond Sourcing’ projects will become more commonplace in the coming months and years.
Trade Extensions expects its growth to continue during 2013 and the predicted sales for the first quarter of the year are up 40% compared to the same period last year.
Garry Mansell, said, “2013 has started well for the company we expect it to be an even better year than 2012. Companies recognise how our platform transforms sourcing and they are now starting to use these techniques to transform other areas of their business such as the supply chain.”
