Washington D.C. Launches gtechna’s Electronic Solid Waste Management Solution, Part of the Public Work’s Greening Initiative

Solid Waste Education and Enforcement Program (SWEEP). Every year, the United States generates approximately 250 million tons of "trash" — about 4.3 pounds per person, per day. Municipal Waste Management (MWM) of over 600 000 residents in the city core, poses formidable challenges to enforce and manage. By generating and transmitting notices electronically, eSWEEP eliminates the most time consuming of manual tasks—data collection, administrative paperwork, sorting, printing and mailing notices to violators making processing exponentially faster.

The system has the ability to auto-fill the majority of data before the inspector even arrives on site, minimizing collection and administrative work considerably. Williams also noted that, “the media tablet was a perfect fit for capturing evidence with a built-in camera instantly attaching photos to the NOV file which can be sent wirelessly to the Office of Adjudication Hearings (OAH).”
