HOUSTON--()--Kickerillo Companies has been designated the preferred builder of custom, luxury homes in Cabo Riviera, a resort on the East Cape of Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Vincent Kickerillo, chairman, CEO and founder of Kickerillo Companies, said, “Our team has studied the Los Cabos market for several years and we believe Cabo Riviera offers potential homeowners the most attractive value in all of Baja based on price as well as natural beauty.”
“It’s actually easier to fly from Houston or California to Los Cabos than to drive to most large cities.”
He added, “While this project will be our first luxury home build outside Greater Houston, it’s a natural fit for us as a high-end homebuilder. We’ve built more than 15,000 custom, luxury homes in over 30 Houston-area communities since 1957.” The “Kickerillo in Cabo” homes, from 3,500 to 15,000 square feet, are expected to fetch from $1.5 million to more than $25 million each.
Kelli Kickerillo, the company’s chief marketing officer and executive vice president, said, “This opportunity in Cabo is exciting for us as we are very familiar with the area. Cabo is a popular destination for Texans — Houstonians in particular — and Californians. Further, in Cabo Riviera, the developers have created a seaside community with much more to offer than other resort communities we’ve researched.”
Cabo Riviera features spectacular views of the desert mountains of Baja. The resort’s white sand beaches and calm Sea of Cortez conditions facilitate swimming in the ocean, paddle boarding, light tackle and sport fishing, sailing, boating, snorkeling, diving, whale watching and kite boarding.
Jim Miller, Kickerillo Companies’ president, said, “We’ve selected the waterfront site for the first Kickerillo in Cabo home, have designed it and are on track to break ground by early March.” By that time, Kickerillo will open satellite sales offices in Los Angeles, Calif., and Cabo to supplement marketing from its Houston sales office (1306 South Fry Boulevard, phone 713-951-0666).
The Cabo Riviera community includes 330 single-family lots on 11 Marina Harbor islands, plus 42 oceanfront lots. Kickerillo will build on the island and oceanfront lots currently under development, while the sales force for the Cabo Riviera developer (Desarrolladora La Ribera, S. de R.L. de C.V.) will cross-market Kickerillo homes to existing lot owners.
Key to Kickerillo’s decision to build in Cabo Riviera was the developer’s commitment to help preserve the area’s sea life, wildlife and ecological landscape. In harmony with the environment, Cabo Riviera upon completion will have no asphalt, over-ground electrical lines or over-ground phone lines.
Each Kickerillo home that backs onto the marina basin will feature a Bellingham Marine Systems dock, enabling owners to have the Sea of Cortez in their front yard and a boat behind their home. Further, every Kickerillo home will incorporate new designs handcrafted by Vincent Kickerillo for the community. Homeowners and their guests will have access to Cabo Riviera’s private beach club as well as the onsite Robert Trent Jones II championship golf course, featuring three holes playing to the Sea of Cortez and two holes playing to the marina basin.
With two miles of white-sand oceanfront, the carefully planned community of Cabo Riviera features swimmable beaches on a gorgeous, protected bay, Bahia de Las Palmas. The resort’s marina, when fully leased, will have 285 slips for boats of up to 200 feet — and San Rafael, the marina village being created in the heart of the community, will encompass Artists’ Village, distinguished by sundrenched stone facades, meandering walkways, upscale restaurants, tropical bars and bistros, boutiques, galleries, grocery markets and more. In addition to Cabo Riviera’s exemplary amenities and state-of-the-art conveniences, the resort will be home to a new, five-star hotel.
Cabo Riviera’s convenient location, a 45-minute drive northeast of Los Cabos International Airport, was an important factor in Kickerillo Companies’ decision to build on the Baja Sur peninsula. Vincent Kickerillo said, “It’s actually easier to fly from Houston or California to Los Cabos than to drive to most large cities.” United Airlines offers numerous flights from Houston, while American Airlines serves Dallas, and non-stop service from Orange County, Calif., can be booked via AirTran, recently acquired by Southwest Airlines.
Mariano Mariscal Asunsolo, Cabo Riviera managing director and investor, said, “We could not have attracted a more capable, talented and experienced homebuilder than Kickerillo Companies. We’re confident Kickerillo will provide our clients with the high quality for which Kickerillo has always been known — infused with the ‘Sabor de Baja’ (flavor of Baja).”
Gary G. Jacobs, an investor in Cabo Riviera and the individual who introduced Kickerillo to the project, said, “We are honored that Kickerillo has chosen Cabo Riviera as the location in Cabo to build its homes. Kickerillo’s ethics and values are long established, and its reputation is the best in all categories.”
