POWAY, Calif.--()--Novia Strategies, Inc. (www.noviastrategies.com) announced that Dr. James Ketterhagen has joined their firm as principal. Dr. Ketterhagen has over 17 years of senior healthcare management experience in multi-hospital integrated delivery systems, HMO, and national managed indemnity settings. His most recent position was as Senior Vice President/Chief Medical & Quality Officer for KentuckyOne Health in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role he led the quality and patient safety initiatives for the system, and provided clinical leadership for a variety of strategic initiatives. Dr. Ketterhagen has also served as Chief Medical Officer for Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida, Chief Quality Officer for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Chief Medical Officer for Columbia St. Mary’s, also in Milwaukee. Prior to moving to the hospital side of the industry, he served as Chief Medical Officer for United Healthcare of Wisconsin.

Dr. Ketterhagen has an extensive background in team management and consensus building among diverse groups. Born, raised and trained in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Ketterhagen completed a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery in Cincinnati in 1984, followed by 11 years in the private practice of vascular surgery in Milwaukee. He is a past President of the Medical Society of Milwaukee County and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He earned a Masters in Medical Management Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008.
