“This project is close to our hearts,” says Dave Petersen, President and CEO of O.C. Tanner. “Our company is proud to be a part of such an incredible undertaking. Cancer has touched all of our lives, and this Hope Lodge will be a resource to so many—making their emotional and financial burden lighter to bear.”
In eighteen months, the American Cancer Society has raised nearly $12 million of the projected $18 million total project cost. The goal is becoming even more tangible, as new 3D renderings were released today which illustrate the final Lodge, which has been designed by the architectural firm, Nexus.
Additionally, Dave Petersen is lending his support by joining the Hope Lodge Campaign Board. “We are thrilled to have Dave on the board,” said Katie Eccles, Hope Lodge Campaign Chair. “His devotion to the community and enthusiasm for this project are clear and we are grateful to him for helping us ‘give hope a home’ in Utah.”
One of 31 Hope Lodges across the United States, the Salt Lake City Hope Lodge will be the first to serve the Intermountain West. Salt Lake City was chosen to house the newest Hope Lodge because of its premiere treatment centers that draw a high volume of patients coming from outside the Salt Lake valley. The Lodge will be located in downtown Salt Lake at 375 East 100 South.
The Hope Lodge Utah is projected to be 63,000 square feet and capable of housing 42 patients at any time. It is estimated the Lodge will serve nearly 800 patients and provide over 15,000 room nights annually.
