NEW YORK--()--Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) today announced the appointment of Gregory Root to the role of Managing Director. Root will help Kroll continue its expansion by leading the financial institutions team. Kroll’s Subscription Rating Service already provides financial strength ratings for nearly 17,000 entities including over 6,600 commercial banks and over 1,000 corporations.

Root joins Kroll from Imperial Capital where he was a Managing Director. Prior to his role at Imperial, Root was a Managing Director at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods for 7 years. Greg started his career at Standard & Poors in the bank ratings group followed by a 21 year stint at Thompson BankWatch, where he served as CEO. Root also spent time at DBRS and McConnell, Budd & Romano. "Kroll is very pleased to welcome Greg aboard as he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and in-depth industry experience that will allow Kroll to grow into the financial institutions area and expand as a firm," said James Nadler, President of KBRA.
